When compared to its predecessor and its main competitor the new lens shows the best FX-corner of the bunch. And at the shorter focal lengths by a large margin!
Perhaps interesting to know for other members. I just had my trusty 24-70 repaired after 8 years of hard use. The zoom and focus rings were getting stiffer as many users will recognise (still usable though), the rubber was getting very worn, and during a recent event I tripped on a staircase and dropped the camera + lens where it got a couple of pretty hard knocks.

Physically, the Z 24-200mm f4.0-6.3 VR is a very small and lightweight lens making it an ideal travel companion. Even compared to the diminutive Z 24-70mm f4.0 S it is only 73g heavier and 6mm longer – at 24mm focal length. Combined with a maximum magnification of 1:3.6 at a minimum object distance of 0.7m the lens looks like a real all
