🏙️ Is 1.9 Tdi A Good Engine
The 2.0 TDI engines in 140 and 170PS do seem to fail more often than the 1,9's and the turbos seem prominent in failure.Listen for any strange noises that might suggest a failing turbo. The dual mass flywheel is widely used in the industry, practically universal in diesel models and increasingly in petrol models and fitted to all the Mk5
Here is a thread on the TDi club summarizing all of the swaps that have been highlighted on their forums and there are several Mk1 conversions: Conversion listing on TDiclub. Personally a full TDi swap with the appropriate injectors and pump on a Mk1 chassis with reinforcements and the right gearing would be a great daily driver.
This engine is result from many long-term tdi tuners after building and having experience from tens of tuned tdi engines, though this one is built on very small time only for the way of experiment. Build it with same receipt, and you will find some numbers. Can´t claim H-profiles would not be an good update.
Easy start and easy driving – Do not always drive below 2000 rpm, even though that is possible and Do not unnecessarily rev a diesel engine till 4-6k rpm…. Time to cool down – Wait at least 20 seconds before you turn the engine off; it the drive was longer and more dynamic, give your car up to 2 minutes…. SHARE ON.
I am currently looking at getting a Seat Altea 1.9 TDi and have noticed that four different 1.9 TDi engines have been fitted depending on the year. Using the correct and good quality oils is
Here in Canada avgas is 1.20 per liter, and dyed diesel (non road) 55c per litre. For you Yanks, thats 5 bucks an imperial gallon vs 2.50. Assuming 8 gph gas and 5 gph diesel, for 1500 hours of flying, the difference in fuel cost is over 40k, hence my request for info on the weight of vw diesels. Thanks everyone.
And besides, I believe that the 98 new beetle has an ALH engine, the 99.5+ ALH's were in Golf's and Jettas, you can find out my looking on top of the timing belt engine cover. Good luck! Dave EDIT: I did a wiki real quick, and it seems that the ALH is used in the NB 01/98 - 06/04, so you probably have an ALH engine.
andy2 said: I think that an hy35 (54mm comp inducer) would work better than the hx35 regardless of turbine housing or compressor size.Hopefully the hy35 turbine (58mm) would be small enough to keep up with the hp turbo.Definitely stay away from the hx35. Using a variable geometry low pressure turbo would be nice however its probably better to
Suspension control is measured, ditto roll and pitch, while the steering is accurate if lacking feedback. Add a precise, albeit overlong, gearshift and progressive brakes and the Octavia can be a surprisingly good steer, especially if powered by the torquey 2.0 TDI diesel. Family car appeal

Is the 1.9 TDI engine that expensive to repair? No. The comparison of the mechanics is good, because this car with 1.9 TDI can be bought for $520-$1290. As for an engine designed for high power and great performance – cars with a factory engine accelerate to 100 km / h in about 9 seconds – it is quite cheap to maintain and repair.
Since 2007, the installation of the Soot Particle Filter has begun. The oldest 1.7 diesel engines carry the D and TD designations of 60 or 82 hp. The newer DI and DTI units are with 65 and 75 hp. The CDTI engines are available in several versions with capacities from 80 to 130 hp. The 100 horsepower variant of the CDTI unit appeared in the
